Flex Traffic & Driving School Pinellas to offer a free evaluation of driving

Traffic & Driving School

Flex Traffic & Driving School Pinellas will be offering a free evaluation of driving (English & Spanish Language) on Saturday July, 27th and August 3rd from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in order to prevent car crashes among teens. This is an outstanding move to increase safety and the best way to exercise due diligence to ensure teens are competent drivers.

A driver’s license is one of the biggest status symbols among teens. It makes them feel more independent. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), teenagers in the United States drive less than all but the oldest people, but their numbers of crashes and crash deaths are disproportionately high.  In the United States, the fatal crash rate per mile driven for 16-19-year-olds is nearly 3 times the rate for drivers ages 20 and over. Risk is highest at ages 16-17.

There are a few key reasons teen drivers are likely to be involved in car accidents. The risk of an accident is highest during the first few months after the teen has gotten a driver license, and decreases as the driver gains experience on the road. A distraction like frequent texting was also more likely to engage in other risky driving behavior, as well as drinking and drug use. They are also more likely to get into a crash on weekends.

Faced with a statistic, parents often have many concerns and fear for their teen’s safety on the road the ability of their teenagers behind the wheel.

Fortunately, teen motor vehicle crashes are preventable, and proven strategies can improve the safety of young drivers on the road.
